IOA Dresses Down to Help Out

Last year at the IOA Corporate 5k  28 companies participated in the 100 Meal Challenge and Food Drive. Read the innovative ways some of the top contributing companies reached their goal.

The IOA Jeans Outreach event began in January 2016. “Each month we choose a different charity to lend an IOA Helping Hand.  For a donation of $20.00 IOA employees can wear jeans every day during the entire month,” says Debbie Gross Special Event and Charity Coordinator at Insurance Office of America.

“We have once again designated Second Harvest Food Bank as the recipient of our IOA March Jeans Outreach event as part of the IOA Corporate 5k.  Last March we raised over $2,000.00 for Second Harvest Food Bank. We also donate food.”

Greenspoon MarderAfter a very successful promotion in 2016 collecting food and money for 3900 meals, Greenspoon Marder is upping their game! Trisha Snyder, office manager, shared that for 2017 “we are stacking food floor-to-ceiling next to a thermometer displaying our target, so our employees can see how close we are to reaching our goal.  As staff also makes monetary donations, we are seeking matching donations from our firm leadership for every staff dollar collected.  This year we will be holding raffles for big-ticket items to bolster the funds collected.  Our community partners are donating services, goods, vacation getaways and other items to enhance our offerings to support of Second Harvest Food Bank.”

Jackson Healthcare:  We typically break our office into teams and compete against each other. The team with the most donations wins. We are a very competitive group so internal competition really gets those donations pouring in,” says Amanda Leloudis, Senior Account Manager.

CRU: We have set our goals higher for this year!  Last year we had a donation bucket during packet pick up and we wrote the team several emails about what Second Harvest Food Bank does and why their dollars would go so far to help people here in Central Florida. We had a rep from Second Harvest come to CRU for a check presentation and we invited the team to come be a part of that.  This year we’re having a ‘giving love back to the community day' on Valentine’s Day where a $5 donation gets you entered into a drawing for a great prize and we’ll be collecting donations again at Corporate 5k packet pick up!❤
