Through mutual discussion and strategic planning alongside Dick Batchelor, the decision has been made to discontinue The Dick Batchelor Run for the Children. In its 33-year history, the Run has done more than any other event in Central Florida to bring attention to child abuse treatment and prevention. All six of the programs at The Howard Phillips Center have greatly benefitted from the Run and its success. However, after careful consideration and analysis, Arnold Palmer Medical Center Foundation, The Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families and Mr. Batchelor will transition the fundraising and advocacy efforts of the Run into developing new sustainable funding sources and initiatives to increase awareness, prevention, and treatment of child abuse. We thank Mr. Batchelor, our sponsors, organizers, runners, and everyone who played a role in making the Dick Batchelor Run such a great tradition and long standing success. We ask that you remain an active and engaged partner. Your continued support will allow The Howard Phillips to provide direct services and support to the children and families who need it most in Central Florida.”

The 33rd Annual Dick Batchelor Run for the Children 5k benefits The Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families, part of Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Proceeds from the run help support child abuse prevention and treatment, early intervention services for children with developmental delays and free healthcare for uninsured teens.
We encourage you to become an Honorary Child Advocate at time of registration by donating an extra $10. For your donation, you will receive an exclusive souvenir race number. Each dollar raised here will go straight to families in Central Florida served through the Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families! Honorary Child Advocate donations do not count toward your overall fundraising goal.
For safety reasons, bicycles, in-line skates, skateboards, and dogs will not be allowed in the race. The use of headphones is discouraged.
