About this Event

The 33rd Annual Dick Batchelor Run for the Children 5k benefits The Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families, part of Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Proceeds from the run help support child abuse prevention and treatment, early intervention services for children with developmental delays and free healthcare for uninsured teens.

Become an Honorary Child Advocate

We encourage you to become an Honorary Child Advocate at time of registration by donating an extra $10. For your donation, you will receive an exclusive souvenir race number. Each dollar raised here will go straight to families in Central Florida served through the Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families! Honorary Child Advocate donations do not count toward your overall fundraising goal.


Restrictions

For safety reasons, bicycles, in-line skates, skateboards, and dogs will not be allowed in the race. The use of headphones is discouraged. Runners and walkers with baby joggers or strollers must start behind designated stroller signage and are required to maintain a 12 minute per mile pace or slower. Participants in the 5k must be able to maintain a 20-minute per mile pace.

Kids' Run- FREE!

Kids, come join us for the free Kids’ Fun Run. The run will start at 8:30 a.m. Each child will receive a race number and award. Registration is on race day only.



Event Photography

Universal Orlando® Resort photographers will be on-site to take photos throughout the day. Be sure to visit the Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families banners inside the registration hub race morning to take your photo. Characters will be visiting with our runners and their  families pre and post-race for photos as well. “Like” Dick Batchelor Run on Facebook to view all of your photos post-event.


The course will go through Universal, City Walk and Islands of Adventure!



Directions & Parking

Traveling East on I-4 (from Tampa area): exit I-4 at Exit #75A Universal Blvd. Take a left onto Universal Blvd. and follow the signs for the Universal Orlando Parking Garage

Traveling West on I-4 (from Daytona/Jacksonville area): Exit #74B. Take a right on Hollywood Way and follow the signs to the Universal Orlando Parking Garage.

Complimentary parking available to event participants and spectators. Spectators are invited to complimentary viewing areas located at the Finish in City Walk.

The Dick Batchelor Run 5k is designed as a non-competitive, non-scored, FUN event. Be sure to look at the finish line clock for time.
