What is Track Shack Training?

Track Shack Training offers group-coached programs for walkers and runners of all fitness levels in the Central Florida community. Through movement, connection, and expert coaching, we help participants build confidence, stay motivated, and progress at every step of their journey to better health and fitness.

Beginner - Zero to Fit

This group-training program is designed for adults who are new to fitness walking or running or who are looking to improve their overall fitness in a social setting. In 10-week sessions, this program meets Mondays and Wednesdays with two time options available:  9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.   The morning practice is led by Coach Lorraine and Coach Dan coaches in the evening; both groups meet at Blue Jacket Park in Orlando.

Our coaches provide workouts that accommodate individual fitness levels, ensuring everyone benefits. Each session includes walking/running drills to encourage proper form, build endurance, and prevent injury. Participants will learn about fitness gear, proper warmup, and cooldown techniques, encouraging healthy habits and injury prevention.

There are no prerequisites prior to starting a Zero to Fit session. Many Zero to Fit participants form lasting friendships and often continue training together long after the session ends!

Speed Training - 5 & Dime

This group training program is designed for intermediate runners to build speed and improve 5K and 10K finish times. A weekly base mileage of at least 15 miles is suggested before joining this program. 5 & Dime meets Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Glenridge Middle School for 10-week sessions. Each practice consists of workouts that capitalize on improving speed, via a variety of different workouts and drills.

5 & Dime coaches focus on three different pace groups.  There is a one-mile time trial at the start of each program. This helps place the participant in the right group to accomplish their goals. Training with others at a similar pace creates a strong sense of teamwork, friendly competition, and shared progress. This ensures each athlete receives maximum benefit from the program. Most participants improve on their PRs they set prior to participating in Five & Dime.

Keep in mind that multiple factors contribute to improving speed and fitness. Runners are expected to run mileage outside of practice days.

Endurance Training - Marathonfest & Galloway Program

Track Shack’s MarathonFest is a group training program for runners preparing for full or half marathons, offering coached, pace-based training with weekday speed and hill workouts and weekend long runs for runners from beginner to advanced levels.
The January session of Marathonfest is an ADVANCED training session geared towards Boston Marathon qualifiers and those doing more challenging spring races such as Big Sur, Nashville, Kentucky Derby, Pittsburg or Flying Pig marathons.
Runners who join the January session must have a strong weekly mileage base and have recently run a half or full marathon. This session is not recommended for first-time full or half marathoners. Marathonfest’s coach is Coach Dan K and supported by 8-pace group leaders.

The Galloway training method is a unique run/walk/run® style of training that minimizes injuries and enables participants to achieve their goal of completing a marathon or half marathon. The training program welcomes all levels, from beginners to Boston qualifiers. Pace groups are set up to ensure a comfortable and safe training pace on the long mileage Saturday runs. This low mileage run/walk/run® program will prepare participants for an incredible achievement. Galloway Program Director: Kerrie Gregory

Through games and practice runs at Blue Jacket Park in Baldwin Park, participants are introduced to the fundamentals of running in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.

Coaches focus on sportsmanship, proper running technique, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits. The program helps young runners develop endurance, coordination, and confidence while learning the value of supporting one another.
