/Volumes/NO NAME/DCIM/100MSDCF/DSC01034.JPG This is my favortie medal for two reasons: First, this was my son's first ever 5k at 5 years old. He came in first in his age group to win the medal. Second, after being diagnosed with MS in 2009 I almost stopped running completely. This was my first run of more than "just around the block" in over 4 years. We both struggled through it but we both finished. No medal for me but this medal has significance for both of us.

It was absolutely amazing to be able to run through the streets of New York with all the spectators and volunteers cheering us on! It wasn't a PR but coming back from an ankle injury made it all that much better. Thank you NYC for an amazing time from the expo to Marathon Monday. I hope I get the chance to do it again one year.
