Reopening with Gratitude and Safety in Mind
By: Betsy Hughes, co-owner, Track Shack
Did you count the days of the last six weeks? Or did you make each day count? I know this community, and I know you made each day count just like we did.
Although there are some unknowns, those six weeks will end soon, and we will be welcoming a limited number of customers back into Track Shack come Monday morning May 4th. We are excited but also nervous. We want and need to make this a positive experience for both our staff and for you. We are so full of gratitude to our amazing running and walking community of Central Florida…the support you’ve shown us during this pandemic has kept us making each day count.
There will be a few changes next week as we re-open through Phase 1 such as:
• Customers will be welcomed through the back door, that way we can limit the capacity inside if necessary.
• We are requiring everyone use a mask or face covering for the safety of our staff, for you and others.
• We are encouraging you to bring your own try on socks, unless you need to buy new socks, always buy 3 get 1 free at Track Shack! And please understand if we are not tying shoes for you just yet. Like you, we are figuring out this new normal and what is safe and not safe.
• We are also asking for use of credit card payment only. (Cash is hard to clean!) We will have hand sanitizer “trees” around the store and will disinfect all shoes after each try on. Of course, we will be washing our hands a lot! But, sadly, no hugs just yet :)
We’ve been keeping Central Florida Fit for 43 years and now we are keeping you and ourselves safe and healthy. Thank you for all your support these last few weeks; for your gift card purchases, your NEW online purchases and your curbside pickups. There is no other community like ours and we are so thrilled you were there to make our days count!
See you on the roads! Still solo though! We’ll be running together soon!
