As Memorial Day Weekend approaches, most people are thinking about the end of school and the beginning of summer. Everyone except runners, that is.  For a runner, Memorial Day means that it is almost time to start half or full marathon training for all the upcoming fall races!  Our next training session is the Summer/Fall Session for everyone targeting a Fall or early Winter Half or Full Marathon. This means even those thinking about running Disney, need to sign up because it’s time to get started with training! 

Track Shack’s MarathonFest and Galloway Half and Full Marathon training programs are set to begin the first week of June.  We will be training for events such as Chicago, Marine Corps, New York, Space Coast Half and Full, the OUC Orlando Half, Jacksonville 
and the 25th Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. We begin training in June because the key to successful, injury-free running is a solid running base along with gradual, incremental increases in mileage.  

Track Shack offers two different distance training programs so we can better accommodate a wide range of fitness levels and running abilities. Both programs offer three group workouts per week with long training runs on Saturday morning. 

The Galloway program follows Jeff Galloway’s latest training guidelines which allow participants frequent walk breaks. MarathonFest is our own unique blend of a variety of training methods, time tested by thousands of runners. Both groups offer coaching, 
structured workouts, pace groups for the Saturday runs and a camaraderie that is unmatched anywhere. If you want to train for a full or half marathon and have fun doing it, then sign up today!
