“I completed the Walt Disney World Half Marathon in January 2009 in 2:16. Within 3 months, I took 14 minutes off my time since my last race. I am AMAZED! I attribute my pace and marathon finish time to your wonderful training program. I'm ready to run, run, run!”
– Rachel, MarathonFest participant

MARATHONFEST
Marathon and Half-Marathon Training for the Distance Runner
Session I - The Winter/Spring Session
January 19, 2010 – May 22, 2010

Prepare for BOSTON and other Spring Marathons and Half-Marathons!

The MarathonFest Training Program

marathonfestMarathonFest is a 3-day a week training program for the marathon and half-marathon distance. MarathonFest is for runners that have established a running base of 12-15 miles per week and are able to maintain a 13:00 min. mile for 4 miles. Our Walking Group maintains a 15 min. mile. We provide coaching and pace groups. Participants receive a training schedule, coached workouts, a pace group, runs supported with water and/or sports drink, access to Florida Hospital professionals, and a Track Shack discount card. Alumni members also receive a $10 Track Shack store voucher.

THE WINTER/SPRING TRAINING SESSION

The Winter/Spring training session is specifically for runners preparing to meet the demands of the BOSTON Marathon and other hilly spring marathons and half-marathons. We use an advanced and aggressive training schedule and include many field trips to Apopka and Clermont. The focus is on strength and speed. The Winter/Spring Session is NOT recommended for runners new to the marathon or half-marathon distance. Novice runners are welcome to join the Summer/Fall Session of MarathonFest. Our beginner program, WRAP or our Five and Dime, our 5k/10k training program are good alternatives through the winter session.
