The Galloway training method is a unique run/walk/run® style of training that minimizes injuries and enables participants to achieve their goal of completing a marathon or half marathon. The training program welcomes all levels, from beginners to Boston Qualifiers. Pace groups are set up to ensure a comfortable and safe training pace. This low mileage run/walk/run® program will prepare participants for an incredible achievement. A high percentage of participants continue this lifestyle change after completion of their goal.

8 month (Marathon and Half Marathon) Training
Description
This 3-day a week run/walk/run® training program will target Chicago, NIKE, USMC, NYC, OUC half, Jacksonville, Jacksonville half, Disney, Disney half, and 26.2 with Donna (Breast Cancer). Many participants complete more than one event during the training session.
Session dates
June 5, 2010 – (mid) February 2011.
Want to start a training program now? Take advantage of Track Shack’s WRAP or Five and Dime program with 10 week sessions beginning in January, 2010.
8 month Participants receive
“Magic Mile” time trial:
The magic mile (4 laps around track) which determines pace group placement and run/walk interval is done the first day of the new session. The magic mile can be run, run/walked, or walked.

Tuesday /Thursday:
4:45 am warm up on track
5:00 am start
Saturday:
3:45am- 5:45am (times vary according to mileage)
Mileage Requirements (for Saturday long run):
2 miles (run, run/walk, or walk)
Early Fall Marathons: Chicago, NIKE, USMC, NYC - 10-12 miles
Late Fall/Early Winter Marathons: Jacksonville Disney - 4 miles
Half marathons: NIKE, OUC, Walt Disney World Marathon - 2-4 miles
Jan/February marathons (Disney, 26.2 with Donna): 2-4 miles
Registration Fee - 8 month Session (half marathon/marathon)
- $170 new members/$150 Galloway Alumni
Online Registration available April 1, 2010.
