A 5k and 10k Training Program

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 to Thursday, May 20, 2010

five and dime training programsGot the need for speed? You can improve your 5k or 10k race time with this 10-week training program! Five and Dime" offers serious coaching and friendly competition in a very social atmosphere. Our 5k and 10k training program meets twice a week and is designed for runners who have already established a solid running base of 12-15 miles per week and are now ready to focus on speed work. This group coached training program emphasizes speed, strength, and conditioning through track workouts, running drills, tempo training and hill runs. Meeting times, dates, and locations are listed below.

*ALL 5k & 10k participants meet at the Howard Middle School track the first night of each 10-week session for the One Mile Time Trial. The results of the Time Trial are used to place runners into pace groups. Each pace group will have a coach. Coach Dave's pace group will meet at the Glenridge Middle School track in Winter Park on Tuesday & Thursday evenings. Coach Nathan and Coach Wayne's pace groups will meet at the Howard Middle School track in Orlando on Tuesday evening. On Thursday evenings, all Five and Dime participants will meet at Glenridge Middle School in Winter Park.

Tuesday Workout

Time: 6 pm - 7 pm
Focus on track workouts

Location
Coach Nathan and Coach Wayne will meet their pace groups at Howard Middle School, located at the intersection of Robinson St. and Summerlin Ave., just east of Lake Eola in downtown Orlando.

Coach Dave will meet his pace group at Glenridge Middle School, located at the intersection of Glenridge Way and General Reese.

Thursday Workout

Time: 6 pm - 7 pm
Hill and tempo runs designed to make you a faster runner!

Blue Jacket Park, Orlando

 

NOTE: All 5 & Dimers meet at Howard Middle School Track the first night of the session for the time trial. Following the time trial runners will be placed in pace groups. Each pace group will have a coach. Coach Dave's pace group will meet at Glenridge Middle School on Tuesday's & Thursday's.

Refund Policy

The training fee is non-refundable.

Restrictions

For safety reasons, baby joggers/strollers, bicycles, rollers skates, in-line skates, and dogs will be prohibited from the training sessions. The Track Shack Foundation Training Programs are designed for persons of 18 years of age or older. Persons younger than 18 should check with their local school for running/fitness programs.
