Everything Happens for a Reason...

I was known as the "runner." After all, I broke every record in my high school from 400m to 5k. It became my life. Fast times and good grades eventually led me to Wake Forest University where I quickly became one of several state champions. There I was nothing special. Plagued with injuries and facing adversity with my coach, I constantly wanted to please others and be known as the "runner" again. That never happened, but something greater did. I realized God gave me the gift of running as a stepping-stone. Without running I wouldn't have attended one of the top schools in the nation. I wouldn't have traveled to Australia or Africa, or grown in my faith and found a deeper passion for life. Through my running, I learned about perseverance.

Today running brings me joy. It's no longer a competition that I have to win. I've already won. As the newest member of Track Shack, I look forward to helping athletes of all kinds and sharing my passion for running and life. I'm grateful for the ability that I've been given and the challenges that I've faced along the way. It's made me who I am today! This is why I believe, everything happens for a reason.
