It's time for fun in the sun! Gather friends, family and neighbors for a morning to celebrate our country's independence with food, and fitness! All runners receive a festive t-shirt, plentiful refreshments, ice-cold watermelon and more!
Kids' runs are free for all children. Distances range from 100 to 400 yards and children will be placed in age appropriate groups. Registration is on race day at race site. The first 150 registered participants will receive a T-shirt. The Kids’ Runs start and finish at the finish line.
Bicycles, roller skates, in-line skates, and dogs will be prohibited from the race course. The use of headphones is discouraged. Runners and walkers with baby joggers or strollers must start behind designated stroller signage and are required to maintain a 12 minute per mile pace or slower; if pace not maintained, you will not be allowed to participate with a stroller in future events.

Create a team and show your support of our local military! The team with the most participants (minimum 15) will have a $500.00 donation made on their behalf to a local 501© (3) organization that supports military service.
Charitable examples may include i.e. active, reserve, veterans, wounded service personnel, military families or ROTC organizations. Results of the team competition and check presentation will be announced on race day at 8:10 a.m.

Any corporate or civic group can form a team.

If you register online during packet pick up days your packet will be available the next day at 10:00 a.m.
Registered 5k participants receive a short sleeved, unisex t-shirt. Wear yours on race day in the spirit of the holiday!
The first 4,000 finishers receive a gift from Track Shack! Your key chain that doubles as a bottle opener is only available at the finish line.
Indicate you are military personnel or family when registering and you’ll be automatically entered into a chance to WIN!
Thank you for your service! To be eligible for the Staycation you must register for the Watermelon 5k by paper form and include your valid military I.D. Must be 18 or over to win. Winner will be chosen at the July 4th Watermelon 5k.
4 men & 4 women will be chosen to participate in our Watermelon Eating Contest. Contest will begin at 8:00 am. All interested participants may sign up on race day at the Track Shack tent. Contestant names will be randomly selected and announced at 7:50 am. Top male and female winners receive festive watermelon merchandise.
The juicy and sweet watermelons at this event are provided by Melon 1!
Join Track Shack and the Feed Orlando Food Drive at the Hunter Vision Watermelon 5k. In the spirit of the July 4th holiday, we’re collecting non-perishable food items for distribution through the Orlando VA Medical Center’s Veterans in Need Program.

Limited race day side street parking available near Park Avenue. Free all day parking available in 7 municipal parking lots within one block of Park Avenue. Two parking garages available:
1) New York Ave. at W. Canton Ave (free parking)
2) South Park Avenue at Lyman (paid parking)
Race day parking will be at a premium and Central Park is the perfect venue with plenty of places to lock up!

In the festive spirit of the holiday, the Watermelon 5k is a non-scored fun-run for runners and walkers of all ages. Top 10 male and female finishers will be posted on TrackShack.com. Check back after the race! No other times will be recorded. Participants are able to get their finish times from the overhead clock at the finish line. The first 4,000 registered runners and walkers to cross the finish line will receive a special souvenir gift.
