Team IOA encourages all 2011 Corporate 5k participants to “Participate with a Purpose!”
Whether your “purpose” for participating in this year's 5k is for fun or fitness, team building or personal achievement we’re glad that you’re making the choice to Participate!
This year, Team IOA’s “Purpose for Participating” will be to lend an IOA Helping Hand to Orlando’s homeless community. During the months leading up to the Corporate 5k, we will be collecting supplies such as tooth brushes, tooth paste, sun glasses, reading glasses, sunscreen, wipes, snacks, nail clippers etc. On race day, each Team IOA participant will carry a small backpack filled with the barest of necessities as we
walk /run the streets of Orlando. As Team IOA participants walk the same streets the homeless walk each day perhaps we will experience in some small way what it might be like to carry the weight of homelessness on our shoulders.
After the race, all the filled backpacks will be donated to the Christian Service Center.
