On Thursday, April 15, while most people were filing their taxes, 617 teams and 12,633 runners, walkers, and fitness enthusiasts took over downtown Orlando.
The 16th Annual Corporate 5k presented by IOA is an event that challenges companies to encourage their employees to get up and get moving.
This year’s race made history, making it the largest road race in Orlando. There was literally a string of runners stretching around a three mile loop in downtown. Steve Curley and Katy Radkewich, on the Track Shack team, were the overall male and female winners, with times of 15:33 and 18:04 respectively.
The atmosphere at this year’s Lake Eola venue made it clear that this was truly “Orlando’s biggest office party”. Beer was flowing, music was playing, companies were networking, and people got to share the experience of a 3.1 mile run with their co-workers.
If you missed out on this year’s fun, then it’s not too early to start getting your office excited about participating this year.
