SimplyIOA Corporate 5k presented by Key HR 2023: Working Together Feeding Hope

The force was strong, Thursday, May 4th at Lake Eola where 10,436 athletes teamed up with co-workers to run and walk together at the 29th SimplyIOA Corporate 5k presented Key HR.

The energy level was positive and riveting on a beautiful night in downtown Orlando! Around Lake Eola that night 415 companies and their employees stepped away from the business routine to run, walk and contribute much-needed food and funds to Second Harvest Food Bank and the Track Shack Youth Foundation.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings welcomed the crowd and encouraged the runners on their 3.1-mile route.

The spirit of May the Fourth was not lost on the Corporate 5k participants. Several teams created clever team shirts. Did you see Jackson Healthcare’s white ‘Never Run Solo’ shirt or Team Darden’s on-brand dark blue shirt that said, ‘May the Fork Be With You’?

Team SimplyIOA’s company shirt summed up the night: Simply Run. Simply Walk. Simply Give!

Together we raised 110,308 meals for Second Harvest Food Bank. Special thanks to these top contributors:

While many Corporate 5k registrants participate for workplace wellness benefits and camaraderie, some athletes run to win! Chris Edwards of Walker, Revels, Greninger PLLC crossed the finish line in 16:26 for the overall win!

Annabella Tomasic, a top local runner representing Team OUC, ran a speedy 17:40 to claim the women’s division for the second year in a row.

Dewitt Revels of Walker, Revels, Greninger PLLC finished first of 46 CEOs with a time of 18:48.   Melissa Corp of My Soxy Feet ran an even 24:24 for her repeat victory!
