Team Captain Cassie Roach shares why this annual event is a priority at Addition Financial.

Q. Why did your company choose to participate in Corporate 5k? 
A. As a credit union founded here in Central Florida, we are incredibly proud of our community involvement and are thrilled to be a part of the Corporate 5K! Our team members absolutely love participating each year, and we are happy to support Second Harvest Food Bank and Track Shack Youth Foundation while enjoying a little healthy competition with other businesses in the area. We have been participating as Addition Financial since 2019, but have been involved in this event on and off for at least 10-12 years under the name CFE Federal Credit Union, prior to our name change.

Q. How important is workplace wellness to your company culture? What benefits can you identify from participating in Corporate 5k?
A. An important pillar of our organization is to remain people-focused, not only when it comes to our members, but when it comes to our team members as well. We truly care about the health and happiness of our employees, and it plays a major role in our company culture. Participating in the Corporate 5K is a great opportunity for us to get active and energized around a collective cause and helps us build camaraderie and excitement outside of the office. 

Q. What are some examples of successful workplace wellness events or initiatives that you employ year-round?  This is helpful to share with other companies!
A. In addition to our comprehensive employee benefits package, we prioritize wellness in a variety of ways. Addition Financial has an on-site fitness center at our Lake Mary headquarters, available for all team members to use, and we periodically host wellness fairs, offer flu shots, and more. Within the community, we place a major emphasis on financial wellness, providing financial education workshops for all age groups and helping our community members reach their goals one small step at a time.
