Track Shack Supports Teachers

My heart smiles when I think about get-togethers with Gary Landwirth, over 20 years ago when he first founded A Gift For Teaching. I knew that helping teachers with school supplies was important...both our children attended downtown Orlando public schools and I saw the need daily while volunteering or walking them to school. It was exciting to be part of an early focus group of moms and teachers working with Gary on this incredible startup charity. Many of my family members, including my daughter Emma, are teachers planting seeds in the minds of our future leaders.

Fast forward to 2019 and this years’ Track Shack Running Series which starts in August! When you sign up to run or walk the six event Track Shack Running Series, you’re a Fanatic!  Better than that, $1 of every registration goes toward the purchase of $10 worth of supplies for A Gift For Teaching.  Improve your health and enrich the lives of local students. Plus we are collecting school supplies at Track Shack during August. Pencils, crayons, notebooks and even boxes of tissues are needed! Chalk, rulers, pens and backpacks will help! Look for the box when you come into the store and help us help our local teachers and schools.

Most-needed supplies:

• Packs of #2 pencils
• 8 or 10-count packs of washable markers
• Pocket folders
• Packs of loose-leaf paper
• 24-count crayon packs
• Dry-erase markers
• Hand sanitizer

Jon and I love supporting AGFT and for 20 plus years they have been near and dear to our heart. Our son Chris and Emma excelled at our local schools because of the many amazing teachers they had. Emma is now a Latin teacher and Chris is helping manage one of the top 50 stores in the US... Track Shack!

Start training now for the Track Shack Running Series and stop in for your shoes and accessories when donating your school supplies! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Teachers!
